Unfortunately I was the one who opened the door so I was once again at the front of a stampede. If being a leader meant I would always be getting run over by the people who are supposedly following me then maybe I should have gotten out of it. Alas I didn't. Luckily I didn't get knocked over this time. As I entered the room I jumped to the side of the doorway and watched as the boys started exploring. From where I was standing I could see most of the room. It was full of computers (all off) and other electric devices that didn't make sense to me and probably didn't work. In the corner of the room there was door leading down, I guessed, into a basement. Everything was covered in cobwebs. Hammy was, very excitedly, examining the computers, telling anyone who was interested what model they were or what year they were made. It turns out they were all very nice and fairly new.
Surprisingly, when Zach flipped a switch on the wall everything turned on. As everyone found a computer to mess with Sam and I made our way to the trap door. It was not locked so we just opened it. The doorway lead to a dark staircase that turned so that we couldn't see where it lead. Sam and I only stared at each other for a second before smiling and climbing down the stairs.
Now before the Apocalypse I had spent maybe a little too much time watching Indiana Jones movies, so I was very cautious not to set off any booby traps. Fortunately there weren't any, and now that I look back on it, that building was probably used so much that the people who used it didn't want to bother with constantly dodging their own traps.
Now sure I thought the computers upstairs were cool, but when you walk into a giant underground warehouse filled with guns, jeeps, planes, and helicopters it's easy to get a little over whelmed. Sam and I stood there staring as one by one the others came down the stairs to join us. The tunnel seemed to go on forever. Beyond all the cool weapons there were huge stores of canned food and further down the cave was a giant greenhouse. "Don't. touch. anything." I said slow and loud so everyone heard. They all looked disappointed, but nobody argued. We all walked down an aisle in the middle of the room and found that the end was a set of huge metal double doors.
"Okay this is obviously a base built for emergencies." I said as the youngsters gathered around me in front of the doors. "This is an emergency- No Jason that doesn't mean we can test drive the Humvee!- We will tell no one of this place. All anyone needs to know is that this is the youngsters... hideout, fort, base, whatever you want to call it. The thing is we cant let the town take control yet. Now this place probably isn't known of by the military or the government. It must be private, otherwise someone would be here. the owner must not have survived the attack..." And thus started the planing.
We brought all the canned food back to town telling Gramps that we had found a bomb shelter with these provisions, and that we would from now on use that shelter for the youngsters headquarters. Thankfully all the youngsters took the plans very seriously and everyone was in agreement... for the most part. There was a little conflict over who would be in charge of flying the helicopter.
Soon we were all studying manuals and getting the greenhouse planted. I set Hammy in charge of computers and aviation, and I had him pick who he wanted to help him. Zach used to work at a mechanic's shop so I had him take charge of the Jeeps, Humvees and the one tank. The greenhouse was given to Shawn the youngest of the youngsters (also known as shrimp or the sheep). He was so exited to be in charge of something, and being the sun of a farmer, he was very knowledgeable about taking care of a garden.
Hammy somehow (don't ask me I'm not that smart) got internet back on the computers. You have no idea how helpful youtube can be when your trying to learn self defense and hand-to-hand combat. Pretty soon we were all at headquarters learning how to use this stuff and how to fight with guns and our own hands. I realized I was building an army.
This is a long intro, and I'm afraid it will be a short ending...ish

Real or Not???
Okay I had a pretty crazy dream last night. Have you ever had a dream that after waking up you couldn't decide weather or not it was real? maybe when you were 4 right? Well I just had one of those last night. Now I don't think I can fly, I'm not searching my room for hidden treasure and I don't think anyone died. But I did have a visitor in my dream... DUN DUN DUN!
So the dream went on like any other, completely normal stuff mixed with extremely obscure events. I was actually in control of my body but not the rest of the dream, though I knew it was a dream.
As usual I was on an alien spaceship with some friends of mine (real world people) in the middle of an adventure. but this dream wasn't all about me... I wasn't the main character. In fact the main character was a girl. This is the first clue I had that this dream was not normal.
Well I don't quite remember details but I do know that there was fighting and someone showed up partway through the dream to help us. I know this person outside of the dream world- tel'aran'rhiod if you will- but unlike most dream worlders this character didn't go with the rules of the dream. It was as if she was having the dream and controlling it somewhat. She knew it was a dream too. Everyone else I have ever come across in my dreams was completely convinced they were in the real world. This person is the second clue that this was no average dream.
The third unusual (to a dream) thing that happened was we finished our adventure... I never get to finish dreams. Something was wrong here.
After we won, or whatever, we were all transported to the home of the person controlling the dream. I had been to this house quite a bit in my dreams but I had never seen it so accurately. Whenever I go anywhere familiar in my dreams they are very different than what is really supposed to be there. The only thing that was wrong was the pond was clean and the pool was gone. I count this as unusual so now four clues.
As if things weren't weird enough the new character gathered me and all my friends around. Wait They're still here? What are they doing here? normally people don't hang out in my dreams for this long. I forgot who some of the people were but I know they were all around sense the beginning. There's another weird thing. Any way so we all gather around and the person who seems to be controlling the dream explains (it's normal for me to forget exact words, even in real life) that she is really in the dream. Wait "the dream"? Is it mine? Is it yours? Is it the person I mentioned earlier who seemed to be the main character? I didn't ask. She says that she has linked telepathically to the dream... Odd... She says it's actually quite possible and just about anyone can do it. Even me?.. Apparently... As she explains to us that she is actually in the dream and that in the waking world we might be able to learn how to do this my dad comes up.
Apparently my mind still had some say on what happened. So my dad comes into the yard where we are talking and tells me that this is a waste of time and that I should be exited to learn how to make money and build things instead of this witchcraft. I explained to him that it was science not witchcraft, and it didn't take much time at all seeing as dreams are much faster than reality. Then I brought up the point that I could get rest at the same time cause I'm asleep the whole time. He questions this last point so I then have to go ask if it's true. Just as she's leaving I ask her "hey does this stuff take any energy?"
"A lot" was all she said before she left, probably to go get some real sleep.
once she left I went to the pool... the pool that had now reappeared. I had control over the dream. I jumped into the water... I could breath. Yep this was my dream now.... Then I woke up.
So was this a real? It was obviously a dream but were the people real?.. Oh I should ask my sister about her dream. I know she was one of the people that were supposed to be there. If we had the same dream then it's true. If she doesn't remember then nothing is answered. If she had a different dream then maybe it was just me and the person who was controlling everything. Asking the controller if she was telepathically linked to me would be awkward, and who knows whether or not the answer is true?... ish

Part 3
I kept running, and looking up, running and looking. SMACK! I had run straight into something hard and flat. I started to stand and look around. There were willow trees all around, I must have been close to the river. The wall I had run into was hidden by the branches of one of the trees. "You okay?" I turned my head (a little to quickly), that wasn't Zach's voice.
"Yeah I'm fine" I said as I noticed that my entire team was standing around the tree I had run into. "What are you all doing here?"
After a little awkward silence it was Sam who said "I was following a... well a bird." Then everyone started talking at once. As I listened I found that we all had been fallowing a brown owl to this point. I turned my attention to the what was behind the branches of the tree. I moved them aside and found concrete. Everyone joined me in trying to find a door, and soon we were all standing in front of a huge set of metal doors that of coarse were locked. I could feel the curiosity and mischief growing in the crowd of teenage boys around me. I almost got trampled while everyone rushed to the door and tried to pick the lock. In the bustle I didn't even see Hammy coming.
I don't know how Hammy survived the two weeks he spent on his own, but when he found us I just had to let him in the group. Mostly I liked him cause he was funny, but he was also smart. Hammy helped to build our weapons for hunting and he actually got a computer working back at the base. So he was very useful, unless your in the middle of a stampede of exited boys. You see Hammy probably weighs about three hundred and fifty pounds, so I didn't stand a chance when he shoved past me, knocking me over.
When I landed on the ground (and my already injured head) I thought I hit something small and hard. As I lay there in front of the doors I noticed that the ground I landed on was soft. I lifted myself up and saw the word WELCOME written across as large door mat, but I didn't see anything small or hard. As the boys all fumbled with the lock, I lifted the corner of the mat and found a shiny little key. It's amazing what some people will hide under the door mat.
"Hey fellas!" I said, and they all looked at me. I showed them the key, and with slightly disappointed looks they all let me by. I stuck the key in the lock and turned it with no trouble. Then I pushed on the door. Nothing... I pushed again. Still nothing... A few of the boys got behind me and helped push. It wouldn't budge. We kept trying until finally someone behind me said "Did you geniuses try pulling?" The pushing stopped. All our cheeks reddened as we stepped back and I puled the door wide open, but all embarrassment faded as we looked into the room we had just discovered... ish

Post Apocalyptic deal continued
I thought it might be a while until my next update. I figured I would have to have a depressing dream or get sick... well I was wrong all I needed was to do some pre-cal.
Turns out Gramps was a very good leader. Everyone in our new little community looked up to him. I guess he kind of became the mayor of our little town. Pretty soon he was running everything, although he couldn't do it all himself. So he started looking for helpers. He gathered to most sane, kind, and intelligent people to help govern the little village. That was all good for him but I tried not to get too involved in governing this one place.
The more stories I herd the more I realized... (at this time I took a break from writing for a few days... but I spent the night before last throwing up, so I'm kinda in a post apocalyptic mood + I spent all morning yesterday watching Dr. Who.) Eghem ... I realized that my place wasn't here. I knew I couldn't just sit here and wait for the next attack. I had to move. But what could I do? These thoughts were all milling around in my mind while I was hunting. I had started hunting the day I met Gramps, and ever sense then I would spend half the day scavenging for food. After I met him, Sam started to go with me on these little trips. Then as they came other young people joined the hunting party. We never seemed to come home with enough food and what we did find usually wasn't all that tasty. Squirrels are very tough and all the ones we caught were rather scrawny. Coyotes are only worth killing for fur and to keep them from eating the squirrels. Rabbits were a treat when we could find them. Anyway I was hunting with Sam and the other youngsters (The name Gramps gave the teenage group of kids that hunted with me, about 20 kids altogether). We had split up into pairs to cover more ground. I was with a kid named Zach. He was a year older than me but for some reason he still thought of me as his leader, all the youngsters did, though I don't know why. For the first few weeks I tried to ignore the fact, but the more people came to our village for help, the more children would come to me for permission to join the youngsters (as if it was the coolest new club).
Zach shook me. Apparently I wasn't moving. "Hey quit daydreaming" he whispered "I just saw a something in the brush over there." He pointed to a clump of bushes where I could see a rather fat rabbit staring at us. It seemed to be trying as hard as it could to look like a clump of brown grass. I aimed my homemade bow (one of several attempts to make something that could actually launch sharp projectiles), but just as I was ready to take the shot a brown streak shot down from the sky like a chocolate lightning bolt. I caught a gimps of a owl snatching up my fat rabbit right before it returned to the sky.
My rabbit was gone. My nice, fat, tasty rabbit vanished before my eyes. In my anger I ran chasing the owl. No I didn't notice at the time that the rabbit was way to big for the owl to eat, and no I didn't find it odd that I could actually keep up with the flying owl from the ground...
gotta go to bed now... ish
